There are two different installation files

  • Version 33 Only: this installation has a database with just the new products for this release
  • Version 33 Complete: this installation has a database with a complete set of products for all releases including this one

Records for Version 33 only:

  • There is one installation with one database containing only the new records for V 32
  • That installation will install one databases (into C:\Users\Public\LBNL\LBNL Shared​)

This version of the CGDB does not have any new records.

  • This version has records that are either updated or deleted.

There are two paths to updating WINDOW Shade Material and Shading Layer libraries:

  • Delete all the records in both libraries and then reimport all the records from CGDB V 31
    • Delete the Shade Materials first
    • Then delete the Shading Layers
    • Reimport all the Shade Material records from CGDB V 31
    • Reimport all the Shading Layer records from CGDB V 31
  • Using the information in the Release Notes update the records individually
    • Delete the records listed as deleted by highlighting them and clicking the Delete button
    • Import the records that were updated

Records from all versions including Version 31:

In this release, there is only one database, and it contains all the records for Version 31.

  • There is one installation with databases only containing new and updated records for V 31
  • That installation will install three databases (into C:\Users\Public\LBNL\LBNL Shared​), one for each version of WINDOW, ie, 7.4, 7.7, and 7.8, named as follows

    • It will overwrite the existing XML folder (in C:\Users\Public\LBNL\LBNL Shared​), with just the XML files for the new V 26 records
      • Make a copy of the existing XML folder before installing this update if you want to save the files in the existing XML folder
    • ​WINDOW 7.4.14 Note: The certification field will not be filled out when you import the records from these databases into an existing WINDOW 7.4.14 database. It is recommended that you upgrade to WINDOW 7.8.55

    There is a separate installation file for each version of WINDOW, ie, WINDOW 7.4, 7.7, and 7.8. 
    Also included in the download links below is a link to a zip file with a default WINDOW database that has the latest IGDB (v 83) records in the Glass Library as well as the CGDB 26 records in the Shade Materials and Shading Layer Library, and all the default records for the other WINDOW Libraries.

Installation Notes

There are two different installations:

  • Records new to Version 21 only:
    • There is one installation with a database with only the new V 21 records in it
    • That installation will install three databases, one for each version of WINDOW, ie, WINDOW 7.4, 7.7. and 7.8
    • It will overwrite the existing XML folder with just the XML files for the new V 21 records
      • Make a copy of the existing XML folder before installing this update if you want to save the files in the existing XML folder
  • Records from all versions including Version 21:
    • There is an installation for each version of WINDOW, ie, WINDOW 7.4, 7.7, and 7.8
    • Each installation will put a WINDOW CGDB database (with the WINDOW version number in the filename) into C:\Users\Public\LBNL\LBNL Shared
      • For example, the database for WINDOW 7.7.10 is called W7_7_10-CGDB-20_0-AllRecords.mdb
    • The XML folder in the LBNL Shared directory will be overwritten with the complete set of XML files

A bug was fixed in the data so that now, in WINDOW, when a Shade Material that has a # is used to define a Shading Layer, the program will keep the "#" in the Shading Layer definition as well as the Glazing System, which is needed for NFRC certification.

All Shade Material records should be updated. This can be done by either

  • Deleting all the records in the Shade Material Library and import all the records from the CGDB v 19.0 database. This might be the best path for WINDOW 7.7.10
  • Import all the records from the CGDB v 19.0 database, and overwrite the existing records.
