International Lighting Decarbonization Workshop Recordings Now Available

November 20, 2024

Lighting accounts for five percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, but today’s lighting and solar experts believe this impact could be lower with strategic effort.

In the spring of 2024, researchers from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) hosted a working task force meeting in partnership with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and other subject matter experts to identify integrated, holistic decarbonization strategies in the lighting space.

Participants in the “Low Carbon, High Comfort, Integrated Lighting” workshop shared the collected findings of two IEA subtasks, the Solar Heating and Cooling Programme Task 70 and the Energy in Buildings and Communities Programme Annex 90. Leading industry members also provided boots-on-the-ground context related to critical subtask issues.

Recordings from the event are now available for on-demand viewing at https://windows.lbl.gov/lighting-industry-workshop.
