Software/Versions Affected:

  • WINDOW›7

WINDOW 7.7 can be used in "command line" mode, i.e., the WINDOW executable can be called from other code.

  • See the documentation link below which explains how to use WINDOW 7 (versions 7.5.11 and later) in Command Line mode
  • Currently running in "command line" mode requires a password, although in the future that may not be the case. But for now, to obtain a password, post a request on the WINDOW Forum, and someone will reply privately with a password.
  • We have developed an Open Source python interface, called pyWinCalc, for calculating thermal and optical properties of glazing systems, which might be more useful (and have more functionality) than the WINDOW command line mode. Here is a link to the Github repository for pyWinCalc.
