Software/Versions Affected:

In order for Optics5 to run under the Microsoft Vista 64 operating system, several OCX files need to be registered.

We have posted a DOS Batch file here (thank you to Jack de Valpine for creating it) that will register all the appropriate OCX files, called VistaFix64.bat.

  • Download the ZIP file and extract the file it contains (VistaFix64.bat) into your user directory (\users\xxxx).

*** VERY IMPORTANT ***

  • Right click on the VistaFix64.bat file from Explorer and pick "Run as Administrator"

— do this EVEN if you are ALREADY Administrator on your computer !!!!

Here is what the VistaFix64.bat file is doing:

******VistaFix64.bat*******

regsvr32.exe /u /s c:\windows\SysWOW64\comctl32.ocx
regsvr32.exe /s c:\windows\SysWOW64\comctl32.ocx
