Chromogenics

This release includes a replacement chromogenic product from Kinestral Technologies Inc

The previous version of this product was called "HALIO", with NFRC IDs of 20230 for the master record and 20231 - 20236 for the related "state" records.

The new version of this product is called "Halio" with NFRC IDs of 20248 for the master record (71% Visible Transmittance) and 20249 - 20256 for the related "state" records.

When the WINDOW Glass library is updated from this release, the original records for "HALIO" will be deleted and all the records for the new "Halio" will be imported individually into the WINDOW Glass Library.  The screen shot below shows the individual records for each "state" of the chromogenic product as it will appear after the IGDB update.

You can keep them in this state and calculate each state separately (for example, for NFRC, only the clear and fully tinted state are needed).

But if you want to see the states "grouped", you can delete the individual layers and import the grouped version from the WINDOW 7 Chromogenics database linked below.

Here is the product "grouped" in the WINDOW Glass Library List View

When you click on the "parent" record in the List View, NFRC ID 20248, the program will display the Detail View, which shows the properties of all the intermediate states.

For complete instructions about how to do this, see this Knowledge Base article: Chromogenic Layers -- Update the Glass Library after updating from the IGDB

IGDB-67-W7-Chromogenics.zip -- this zip file contains a separate database for WINDOW 7.4, 7.6 and 7.7, with all the chromogenics in the IGDB "grouped" form, for IGDB 67.0

WINDOW Glass Library Update Error

The message about getting an Update Error when updating the WINDOW 7.7.01 Glass Library has been removed, based on testing this update. There does not seem to be an issue with using the "Update IGDB" button in the Glass Library List view to update to this version of the IGDB.

However, if you do see an error when using the "Update IGDB" button in the Glass Library, please email [email protected], with details about what version you were updating from. If you do experience an error, you can follow the directions for IGDB 65.0 which describe how to update the database "by hand".

  • Using the Release Notes for IGDB 64.0 (linked above) as a guide, do the following
    • Delete all the records in the Release Notes that are listed as deleted
    • From the File menu, Preferences menu option, Optical Data tab, set the database to the IGDB or IGDB Update option, making sure that the file shown is
      • C:\Users\Public\LBNL\LBNL Shared\Glazing.mdb
    • Go to the Glass Library and click the Import button, which will open the Glazing.mdb file
    • Scroll to the right to see the Database_Version field.

Chromogenics

This release includes a new chromogenic product from SAGE Electrochromics, Inc.

When the WINDOW Glass library is updated from this release, the 5 different states of this electrochromic glass layer are imported individually into the WINDOW Glass Library.

But if you want to see the states "grouped", you can delete the individual layers and import the grouped version from the WINDOW 7 Chromogenics database linked below.
